Update on the VA Creeper trip.... Bike shop open, please see infomation below on booking your ride up the mountain/shuttle ride and renting your bikes and helmets if you need one.
Margarita Party at 4:00 Thursday May 9th... at my place 119 Park St. SE, if you wish bring something to share for food or you may have a Margarita or two and pickup your theatre ticket, and go eat somewhere on your own.
We will walk (two blocks) from my place to the Barter Theatre, *** play starts promptly at 7:30p.m. we need to be in our seats by 7:15.
Make sure you are at the bike shop by 9:00 a.m. on Friday May 10th... the shuttle leaves promptly at 9:30 a.m. If you are not there when the shuttle is full and ready to pull out your seat could be given to someone else. "Just saying".
For those of you that want to join me on a hike, also be at the bike shop at 9:00 a.m and we will see everyone on the shuttle off and then we will decide where and how long we want to hike.
After the ride I have dinner reservations at Mamma Mia's Italian Resturant at 6:00 p.m. The address is 134 Wall St. South, Abingdon. This also is in walking distance from where most of us are staying. However if you are not staying close to the bike shop you are welcome to park in the church parking lot next to where I stay and we can walk as a group to the resturant. *** please note that due to this being Mothers Day Weekend and the popularity of the play "Ring of Fire" I had a particulary hard time this year finding a resturant that would take us. I have never eaten at this resturant, praying that it will be good food and we will enjoy the resturant and the fellowship... If not please don't shoot the trip leader.
Thank you to all that have reimbursed me for your theatre tickets, there are still a few that I have not heard from.... please note that I put all 22 tickets on my personal credtit card so we could have 2nd. row seats.

The date for the 2024 Virginia Creeper bike ride has been set... We will be arriving in Abington, VA on May 9, 2024.. We will ride the Creeper/ or HIKE on Friday May 10, 2024.
*** The date selected for the Virginia Creeper Bike Ride/Hike was chosen due to room availability. The places that I have used in the past were all full in April. These dates are the first available... If you are going on fantastic bike ride (this year I have added hiking). You MUST BOOK YOUR ROOM NOW. These two places do NOT REQUIRE A DEPOSIT. However they do expect you to let them know ASAP BEFORE the trip that you are cancelling.

It is very important that you book ASAP... there are other places in Abingdon to stay however (in my Humble Opinion), you can't beat the no deposit deal
If you have booked your room you still must sign up on CSC Event Webpage to register for the ride and sign the waiver. This is very important.

IF you are renting a bike, you must call VA Creeper Bike Shop 276-676-2552 to reserve your bike and if needed a helmet. IF you are bringing your bike you must call the bike shop to reserve your spot on the shuttle to the top of "White Top Mountain". Tell them you are with CSC club and you want the 9:30 a.m. shuttle.
We will be riding the Creeper Trail or Hiking on Friday May 10, 2024... We will be taking the 9:30 a.m. Shuttle.
Make your way to Abingdon on Thursday May 9, 2024... I have group reservations at the Barter Theater for the 7:30 performace on Thursday night. I have 25 seats on the second (2nd.) row for the play "Ring of Fire". I will have the cost of the Group Rate soon. Please let me know ASAP if you plan on attending the play.
You will need to eat on your own for Thursday evening meal. Or we can all go in together and order Pizza.
I will arrange for a "Group Dinner" on Friday night after the ride.

We need to be at the Barter at least by 7:40 p.m. on Thursday night May 9, 2024 to be seated (our seats are on 2nd. and 3rd. rows. So plan your dinner accordingly.

**** IMPORTANT**** When you arrive Thursday, you must go to the bike shop to pay for your shuttle ride/rentals(if needed). Do this Thursday! Do not wait until Friday morning to do this!!!
Friday Morning, we are on the 9:30 shuttle if you are riding the bike trail. Hike plans will be announced closer to the date. Be at the Bike Shop by 9:00 a.m. this is also very important as April/ May are popular months of the Creeper Ride, the Rhododendrons should be in full bloom. (Hopefully)?
When you register for this event you must sign the Trip Release Waiver at the bottom of the Registration form.

For now these two lodges have availability for the May 9-10, 2024: **** when you have booked your room please let me know*** I will need to know where you are to get you your theater tickets and to plan meeting at "Command Central" for Margarita's!!!!
